BSO Mickey

Welcome to BSO Mickey, our after-school care located at Buurt- en Speeltuinvereniging de Jeugd on Antoniusstraat 52 in Hengelo. We provide care for children aged 4 to 10 years in two horizontal groups: BSO group de Dwerggeiten for the youngest children (4-6/7 years) and BSO group de Klimgeiten for the older children (6/7-10 years). Each group accommodates up to 22 children, allowing us to care for 44 children per day in total. Our BSO is inspired by Montessori principles. We offer children respect, time, and space for their own ideas and input. After school, tea (or other drinks) is ready to help children unwind from their school day. Children can play a game together, be read to, have cozy chats, or simply do nothing for a while. Afterwards, there's plenty of room to build something fun, do puzzles, or play in the doll corner or shop. We have a beautiful outdoor space with a playground featuring swings, seesaws, climbing and sliding equipment, and a go-kart track. Children can let off steam in the panna cage or on the large sports field. We regularly organize sports and games activities. Additionally, there's a small vegetable garden where children learn about nature and can grow their own vegetables and herbs. Our large studio is a creative meeting place where children can explore and create under the guidance of our trained studio pedagogue. We offer a wide range of materials, and children are also free to work independently in the studio. The environment is carefully designed and inviting, making children feel at home and challenged to play and learn. We collaborate with primary school Esrein and primary school ExpeditieWijz. Children are picked up after school by our recognizable staff. From Esrein, it's about a 15-minute walk, with the youngest 8 children transported by electric cargo bike. Children from ExpeditieWijz are picked up by our BSO bus. Our opening hours are Monday to Thursday during school days from 2:00 PM to 6:15 PM. During school holidays, we are open from 7:45 AM to 6:15 PM. We are closed on Fridays and during the week between Christmas and New Year. Our rate includes food, drinks, fruit, and a snack in between. During holidays, lunch is also included.
