SKSG Bruintje Beer

Welcome to SKSG Bruintje Beer, a warm and colourful daycare centre located at Bankastraat 72 in Groningen’s Indische Buurt. We provide care for up to 40 children aged 0–4 in a small-scale, familiar setting where every child quickly feels at home. Hidden behind Bedumerweg, our centre is surrounded by a large, adventurous garden with grass, swings, a sandbox and a slide. Here, children play and explore every day under the guidance of caring, familiar pedagogical staff. Our daily rhythm offers structure and predictability. The day starts with fruit or a cracker and herbal tea, followed by developmental activities and free play. At 11:30 we share a bread meal with milk, after which most children rest or nap. In the afternoon a healthy snack is served, followed by more play and learning. For babies up to about one year we follow the home routine as closely as possible, and mothers are always welcome to breastfeed on site. Babies are cared for by specialised infant staff. We work with horizontal groups: Koalas (0–2 yrs, max 10), Raccoons (2–4 yrs, max 16) and Pandas (1–4 yrs, max 14). Each group has three regular staff members who work most of the week together, ensuring your child sees familiar faces and builds secure attachments. We use the VVE programme Piramide, an evidence-based early-years curriculum. Through themed activities we stimulate language, numeracy, motor skills and social development. Themes are linked to children’s everyday experiences and aligned with local schools such as OBS Het Karrepad and St. Franciscus. Toddlers from age 2 can attend 16 hours of pre-school playgroup per week during 40 school weeks. Parents experience an open, personal atmosphere. Thanks to our open-door policy we know almost every parent personally, and you can drop by any time for a chat or advice. Every child has an assigned mentor who tracks development and conducts parent meetings. Once a year you can request a free consultation with our pedagogical team.
