Brakkenstein

Welcome to BSO Brakkenstein, located on the ground floor of primary school Brakkenstein at Heyendaalseweg 235 in Nijmegen. We are an after-school care facility operated by KION, providing care for children aged 4 to 12 who attend this primary school. Our spaces are specially designed to match the age and development of the children. For the younger group, we have an extensive home corner, a shop, a construction area, and plenty of craft supplies, games, puzzles and dress-up clothes. The older children have their own space with a creative table and a cozy reading corner where they can retreat. We play outside as much as possible. Our own garden features a sandbox, swings, a climbing frame, an outdoor kitchen, a small football field and a vegetable garden that we maintain together. For extra play space, we also use the school playground and the nature playground in the neighborhood. Our activity program connects with the children's world of experience and offers room for relaxation, play and development. We organize creative craft afternoons, sports and games activities, nature and garden projects, and regular excursions during holidays. Our pedagogical staff guide the children with attention and stimulate their independence and social skills. BSO Brakkenstein is open on weekdays from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM, including during school holidays and study days. We work closely with primary school Brakkenstein, ensuring a smooth transition from school to after-school care. Our location is within walking distance of Radboud University and Radboud UMC, making us ideally suited for parents who work or study in this area.
