Bos-BSO

Welcome to Bos-BSO, our small-scale after-school care located in the distinctive pyramid of Scouting Kapelaan Berix at Gasthuisstraat 52 in Heerlen. We provide care for up to 22 children aged 4 to 12 years. Our unique location borders the beautiful Aambos forest and the babbling Caumerbeek stream, ensuring children are surrounded by nature every day. At Bos-BSO, everything revolves around the child who is allowed to experience, play, meet and unwind. Our highly experienced pedagogical staff recognize each child's individuality and give space and genuine attention. We work in small groups with permanent supervisors, where homely coziness and loving attention are central. Our vision is that every child has a wonderful time at the BSO and can develop in their own unique way. Indoors, children have access to a large space with cozy corners full of building and play opportunities, an extensive range of craft and handwork materials, a foosball table, a bookcase full of books for all ages, dress-up clothes and even an indoor sandbox. Every day we eat together at a cozily set table, with lunch, drinks, fruit and snacks included. Our large enclosed garden offers countless opportunities to romp, play football, cycle, climb and discover. From the garden we can walk straight into the forest to the playground and petting zoo. In warm weather we are within walking distance of the Caumerbeek for paddling and observing fish and frogs. We collect children from various schools in Heerlen after school. We are open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays and during holidays and school-free days (except the middle 4 weeks of summer holidays). Our pedagogical policy plan is updated annually and available on request.
