Bolderburen

BSO Bolderburen is our after-school care facility for children aged 4 to 7, located at Atjehstraat 32 in Leiden. We are part of Kind in Beeld, an organisation that has been providing childcare with dedication and warmth for many years in the region. At Bolderburen we welcome up to 20 children each day, guided by two regular teachers. Children join us straight after school; pupils from Vrijeschool Mareland arrive at 1 p.m., while children from other schools are collected at their individual dismissal times. Our site features its own natural playground where children can climb, explore and play together independently. From time to time we walk with a teacher to the larger playground that hosts our other BSO groups, giving the children the chance to make new friends and enjoy even more adventures. The name Bolderburen is inspired by Bullerbyn, the tiny Swedish village in Astrid Lindgren’s stories: the nicest village in the world, where seven children experience something new every day. Just like in Bullerbyn, we want our children to discover the world with open eyes and a sense of wonder. We work from an anthroposophical perspective, focusing on calm, rhythm and individual attention for every child. Learning through play, imagination and the development of social skills are at the heart of our approach. We also organise small excursions to nearby nature areas so that the children can experience the seasons and get to know the world around them. In short, BSO Bolderburen is a warm, safe place where children can play, relax and grow in a homely environment after school.
