Bij de Handjes

Welcome to Bij de Handjes childcare in Gieten, a small-scale daycare centre at Bloemakkers 17 for children aged 0–4. We stand out with our private petting zoo—exclusively for Bij de Handjes families—and our focus on nature and animals. The centre has 48 places divided into three horizontal groups: a baby group (0–2) and two toddler groups (2–4). Only qualified, screened staff work here, and parents keep full control; nothing happens without your consent. Diapers, formula, fruit, drinks and snacks are all included in the hourly rate. Flexible contracts and swap days are available. Babies have their own sleeping room, and outside there is a secure garden with play equipment and our farm. Daily rhythm includes stories, songs and prayer. Our Christian identity welcomes every child. We run an official early-education programme that boosts language, numeracy, motor and social-emotional skills, preparing toddlers for primary school in a playful way.
