Best 4 Kids - De Hoeve

Best 4 Kids – De Hoeve provides daycare in Heerlen for babies, toddlers and preschoolers (children aged 0 to 4). We are located in the atmospheric Overste Douvenrade farmhouse, a listed national monument on the edge of the 240-hectare Terworm nature reserve. The entire centre is spacious and bright. Each group has its own play area and two sleeping rooms. A baby group (0 – 18 months) and the accompanying toddler group (18 months – 3 years) share a kitchen and changing/toilet area. The groups are arranged around a large central playroom where we run, play and discover together; this is also where our theatre, music and dance activities take place. The oldest toddlers (from about 3 years) have their own group in the former hayloft of the farmhouse. This space is a real treat: feel like playing ball, running, building or exploring? Everything is possible. Our pedagogical staff provide activities tailored to the needs of these ‘older children’. Our backyard is the Terworm nature reserve. Every day we take the children outside to walk, romp and discover. We also bring nature inside and draw inspiration from the Reggio Emilia approach. In our dedicated studio, children can freely paint, craft and create with materials selected especially for young children. We work with horizontal groups: babies, toddlers and preschoolers are placed in age-specific groups so that activities and care are perfectly matched to their developmental stage. Half-day care is available; parents can choose a morning, an afternoon or a full day.
