Welcome to Kindcentrum Beekman, a homely and atmospheric daycare located in a beautiful monumental building right in the heart of ’s-Hertogenbosch, within walking distance of the central station. Part of Kanteel Kinderopvang, our daycare welcomes up to 88 children aged 0–4 years. We operate one horizontal baby group for children from 0 to 18 months and five vertical groups where children aged 0–4 play together, learn from one another and practise social skills. Babies receive all the calm and attention they need: reading a book on a lap, playing peek-a-boo and encouraging rolling, crawling and sitting. Toddlers set off on exploratory journeys hand-in-hand with our pedagogical staff, while our older children join a special 3-plus group at least one session a week. Here they enjoy age-appropriate activities that gently prepare them for primary school, focusing on language, movement and social interaction. Our educational approach is guided by the HOREB programme. We observe each child’s play behaviour and tailor our activities accordingly. Every morning at 9:00 a.m. we start a predictable yet flexible daily rhythm that includes free play, fruit time, nappy changes, indoor or outdoor activities, a warm lunch, rest and a final snack. We read aloud daily in our shared library; children can take books home and themed stories are brought back into the group. Regularly we open the doors between groups so children can play with peers from other rooms and experience the entire centre as one familiar world. Each child has a dedicated mentor who tracks development, conducts parent meetings and is your first point of contact. We use the parent app KidsKonnect to keep you informed about your child’s day and progress.
