Babino KDV de Caleidoscoop

Welcome to Babino KDV de Caleidoscoop, our warm and homely daycare centre located at Hammarskjöldstraat 230 in Hoofddorp. We provide care for up to 16 children aged 0 to 4 years, divided into a baby group and a toddler group. Our centre is housed in the same building as primary school De Caleidoscoop, allowing us to collaborate closely with the school and make use of spacious facilities such as the gym and schoolyard. At our centre, everything revolves around calmness, structure, and a rich living environment. We follow an anthroposophical approach to child development and education. This means we place great value on natural materials, imagination, and creativity. Our spaces are designed with warm colours, wooden toys, and soft fabrics. We intentionally choose toys that are not fully ‘finished’, so that children can decide for themselves what they are and how to play with them. This stimulates their imagination and helps develop their own play strength. We follow a consistent daily rhythm in which play, rest, meals, and outdoor time alternate. Babies have their own quiet sleeping room, while the toddler group eats, sings, crafts, and plays outside together. We sing songs, tell stories, perform puppet shows, and craft with natural materials. Outdoors, we are often found in the garden, taking walks, and letting children experience the seasons. Our pedagogical staff are specialised in the development of young children. They provide loving care, closely observe the children, and tailor activities to each child’s needs. We work closely with parents and maintain regular communication about each child’s progress. Together, we create a safe and familiar place where children can develop at their own pace.
