Babba kinderopvang is located at Hooiweg 10 in the centre of Zuidhorn and provides daycare for children aged 0–4. We believe every child is unique, wonderfully made and infinitely loved, so we create a calm environment in which children feel safe and truly seen. Our setting has separate baby and toddler groups. The baby groups David and Benjamin welcome children from 0 to about 2.5 years, while the toddler group Febe is for children from 2.5 to 4 years. Each group has its own fixed pedagogical staff, giving your child familiar faces every day and giving you a consistent point of contact. We deliberately keep group sizes small—never more than 12 children, even though the law allows up to 16. This guarantees peace and personal attention for every child. Our indoor spaces are much larger than average, offering children plenty of room to move and develop. Outside, a lush 1,270 m² green garden invites climbing, running, digging and discovering. Our pedagogical approach is child-centred. We comfort children when they cry, never leave them alone with difficult emotions and do not use time-outs. Whenever possible we follow the rhythm children have at home, especially for babies. A typical day includes free play, fruit time, nappy changes and naps, an activity or outdoor play, a bread meal, another rest period and a final drink with a biscuit. We believe every child has talents, so we work with themes and offer matching activities through the “peuteractiviteitenweb” platform. Themes range from seasons and emotions to animals and traffic. Within each theme children can paint, sing, build, engage in role play and explore—always at their own pace and level of interest. Everything happens under one roof. Babba is the only childcare centre in Zuidhorn where daycare and after-school care are located on the same site, so parents never have to drive to multiple locations at the end of the day.
