Avonturijn Speel-/leergroep 't Onderdeurke

Welcome to Avonturijn Speel-/leergroep ’t Onderdeurke, our small-scale daycare centre in Barchem. We are located in the school building at Beukenlaan 24, together with primary school De Barchschole, surrounded by beautiful woodland. With a maximum of 12 toddlers per day, we offer a homely and safe place where children aged 2 to 4 can explore, learn and experience adventures together. Our space consists of two connecting classrooms that we share with the youngest pupils of the school. The construction corner and home corner are specially designed for toddlers, with age-appropriate materials and stimulating areas that spark imagination. When the toddlers need some quiet time, we close the door and create a cosy space for crafts or reading aloud. Working with themes is central to our approach. These themes match what toddlers find interesting and provide recognition in their world. Our permanent pedagogical staff – the same familiar faces for years – guide the children with warmth and attention. Together we go on discovery trips in nature, as the forest is literally around the corner. We use our outdoor space daily: our own enclosed playground with sandbox, playhouse, swings and enough shade for cycling or riding tractors. At ’t Onderdeurke we believe it is important that every child feels safe and seen. We offer a familiar environment in which toddlers develop at their own pace through play. Having fun together and discovering new things – that’s what we’re all about.
