Avonturijn BSO Ceres

Welcome to Avonturijn BSO Ceres, located at Wolfersveenweg 3 in the centre of Zelhem. As part of the Avonturijn Childcare Foundation, we provide after-school care for children aged 4 to 12 who attend primary school Succesbos (formerly Avonturijnschool) or the lower grades of Lorentzschool. Our BSO is housed in the characteristic, monumental former dairy factory, giving us spacious, bright communal areas: three large playrooms, a craft studio and a multi-purpose room where children can build, play, do sports and get creative to their heart’s content. Our large kitchen is a favourite spot: children regularly cook together with our pedagogical staff, discovering new flavours and learning to cooperate. The generous outdoor playground offers plenty of adventure: a climbing tower, slide house, sandpit, table-tennis tables, ball catcher, Twister tiles and even our own football cage ensure there is always something to do. In fine weather much of the programme moves outside; when it rains we stay indoors, where ample space and materials keep everyone active and creative. We collect and drop off children daily on foot, by cargo bike or – when necessary – with our own BSO minibus. All staff have completed an accredited driving course so every child travels safely to and from school. For parents who need extra flexibility we offer before-school care (VSO) from 07:00 to 08:30 and after-school care straight after lessons until 18:30. During all school holidays and on teacher-training days we are open from 07:30 to 18:30; an extra half-hour of care (from 07:00 or until 18:30) is always possible. Registration is possible from the moment your child turns 3 and the (provisional) school choice is known. Via our parent portal Konnect you can easily book extra days, swap an occasional care day or report study days.
