Parcivalschool Noord

BSO Zonnesteen is located on the ground floor of primary school Parcivalschool Noord at Spiekmanlaan 16 in Arnhem. We provide after-school care for up to 30 children aged 4 to 13. Our space is right next to the school playground, so children can walk in safely straight after school. We follow the anthroposophical vision that also guides Parcivalschool. This means calm, regularity and attention for each individual child are central. Our pedagogical staff offer a safe and loving environment in which children are given space to develop themselves. Free play is important: with dress-up clothes, puzzles, building blocks and play boards, children can let their imagination run free. Most toys are made from natural and sustainable materials. Children play with wooden blocks, cars and trains, hand-made fabric dolls and a wooden playhouse. Board games are available and we have plenty of craft, drawing, painting and carpentry materials. Outdoors we use the school playground, where children can run, cycle, build or simply sit in the grass. During holiday weeks we are open from 08:00 to 18:30. In school weeks we start right after school and close at 18:30. We follow fixed daily rhythms that connect with the child’s world: first a healthy snack, then free play or an activity, and finally tidying up together. Parents are actively involved through the school’s communication app.
