Antonius Start

Welcome to Antonius Start, our small-scale daycare center located at Antoniusstraat 10 in the heart of Erp. We provide care for a maximum of 8 children aged 2 to 4 years in one warm, stable group. This intentional small scale ensures peace, overview and lots of personal attention for each child. At Antonius Start we work according to the Pyramid method. This means we work thematically while stimulating children's development in the areas of language, mathematics, motor skills and social-emotional development. Our space is fully equipped for this with various play corners such as a construction corner, reading corner and home corner. Currently we're working around the theme 'Living', using LOGO 3000 plates to expand vocabulary and having children bring photos of their own homes. We highly value parent involvement. Through our parent portal we regularly share photos and information. For each theme, parents receive a newsletter with songs, vocabulary, reading books and suggestions for activities at home. Parents bring their children into the group room and have the opportunity to play together for a while. Each child has their own mentor who follows their development through the child tracking system Kijk! Twice a year we complete development lists, after which we have conversations with parents. When there are concerns, we schedule conversations earlier and can involve the consultation office or our pedagogical coach. We provide preschool education (VE), offering at least 960 hours of education annually for children from 2.5 years. There's a warm handover to primary school Antonius, with whom we regularly consult and sometimes organize joint activities like playing outside together and eating fruit. Our permanent staff member conducts the intake interview so parents immediately meet the person who will guide their child daily. We work with a horizontal group structure where all children in the same age category play and learn together.
