Welcome to Agrarische Kinderopvang ’t Heikantje at De Wolfsputten 6 in Aarle-Rixtel. We provide daycare for children aged 0 to 4 on a unique site set in the middle of a horticultural farm. Our children grow up surrounded by strawberry, leek, corn and asparagus fields and can watch the farmer at work right from the group room. The natural play-and-learn environment includes a spacious play meadow, our own children’s farm, front and back gardens and a vegetable plot. We work in three vertical groups: the Calves (0-2 yrs, max. 12 children), the Spots (0-4 yrs, max. 16 children) and the Young Stock (2.5-4 yrs, max. 16 children). Each group is guided by up to four pedagogical staff who tailor activities to your child’s interests and needs. Our vision is that every child may learn new things at his or her own pace. We respect people, animals and nature and offer a safe place where your child has plenty of room to grow. During the intake interview we discuss your wishes and any allergies or special requirements. We apply a careful settling-in policy: two weeks before the first day of care your child is offered one or two half-days to get used to us. The animal meadow is a favourite spot; first the children watch from a distance, then they are allowed—under supervision—to feed chickens, guinea pigs and rabbits. We also make regular trips to the nearby forest or a farm. In this playful way children learn about seasons, animals and plants.
