Abeltje Nutsschool Peuterarrangement Het Uilenbosje

Peuterarrangement Het Uilenbosje has been located in Nutsschool at Lankforst 23-48 in Nijmegen since early 2014. We offer a small-scale toddler group for a maximum of 16 children aged 2 to 4. Our group is open four mornings a week; on Wednesdays we stay closed so that children and staff can take a breather. We use the recognised Early Childhood Education programme ‘Uk & Puk’. Through play we stimulate language, numeracy, motor skills and social development. Music plays an important role: classical and soothing sounds help the children concentrate and stay relaxed. Physical activity is equally important; outdoors we use the safe school playground and spacious school garden for running, cycling and exploring. Our approach is all-inclusive. Breakfast, fruit, yoghurt and lunch are included, as are nappies and care products, so parents never have to worry about extra costs. Each group has one permanent staff member who is also the mentor; she knows every child inside out and regularly discusses development with parents. The transition to primary school is therefore smooth: we share our observations with the new teacher so that every child can take the next step with confidence.
