KDO Oons Stekkie

Welcome to KDO Oons Stekkie, our small-scale daycare centre at Burgemeester Hoogklimmerstraat 17 in the heart of Denekamp. We provide a homely, friendly place for up to 46 children aged 0 to 4, where every child feels completely at home. Our work is guided by the core values safety, space and growth. Safety comes first: children who feel safe go on a voyage of discovery. Our regular pedagogical staff make sure every child knows they will be caught when something doesn’t quite work out. We also give children space in mind and surroundings so they can search for themselves at their own pace. We challenge, stimulate and encourage learning through play, allowing each child to grow in his or her unique way. Our groups are organised horizontally: children play, eat, explore, learn and sleep in fixed groups with familiar faces. We believe it is important for children to learn how to deal with their environment. That is why we regularly go out together: into nature, on discovery trips in the forest or in our own green play and vegetable garden. The children help care for our chickens and learn to look after animals, plants and each other. We work according to rest, cleanliness and regularity, tailored to your child’s age. New children always start with a settling-in session so they become familiar with the daily routine, the staff and their group mates. Parents are welcome to come and see for themselves whether the atmosphere at Oons Stekkie suits your family. Our door is always open!
